 Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana Counties offers “Through the door” (meaning assist clients from their home in and out of their appointment and back home) transportation for those 60+ in Mahoning County?

Formerly known as The Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission

The vast majority of working-age Ohioans with a disability would like to work. Moreover, Ohioans with a disability bring many key success factors to the workplace.

If you want to work but are having trouble because of your disability, you may qualify for vocational rehabilitation services from the Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities.

Vocational rehabilitation provides direct, personalized services to help individuals with disabilities obtain or retain employment. The Vocational Rehabilitation counselor works with individuals one-on-one to plan an individualized program leading to gainful employment.

ABLE Adult Basic & Literacy Education

ABLE provides FREE services for:
Distance Learning
GED Preparation
Employment Skills
Entering Post-Secondary Education & Training (GAP)
English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)

The Trumbull Career & Technical Center’s ABLE classes are offered mornings, afternoons, and evenings at various locations throughout the county.  All students are required to attend an orientation before attending class.  Call to schedule an orientation session.  (330) 847-0503 ext. 1611.  Many students ask how long they will need to attend classes.  This depends on your skill level, how often you attend, and personal circumstances.
Age Requirements
16 and 17 year old must be formally withdrawn from high school and need to obtain the necessary signatures on both the age waiver form and the parental consent form.

18 year old must be officially withdrawn from high school and need to obtain the necessary signature on the age waiver form.  If your class has graduated only a transcript is needed.

The cost of a GED test has increased but test takers can earn $80 in vouchers toward that cost if they first meet with a counselor at one of Ohio's 91 career-technical district sites,
